HI THERE, IβM LEEANN.
ABOUT
The thing was, I never intended to do a Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike solo β especially as a woman. And to be honest, I almost didnβt. Then, I realized if no one will go with you, then you need to stop waiting. And sometimes that means you just have to go by yourself.
Iβve been lucky to have lived in a variety of places; a brief stint in New York City, a couple of years in South Africa, and the better part of a decade in Colorado. With the unplanned challenges I have been presented with, I feel most the most like myself in the outdoors. It is healing, grounding, sometimes temperamental - but it is constant.
After losing 2 of my adoring grandparents in Summer 2023 and losing my father in October 2024, I have continued to learn the lesson that time is precious. My nuclear family structure also changed in 2023/2024 which reinforced the note above; stop waiting and go on the adventure by yourself.
Iβm now here to report back to anyone willing to listen to all of the (unintentional?) lessons Iβve learned along the way. Fails will happen, like sliding down a mountain or twoβ¦ (and by sliding, I mean, falling lol) But you get back up and keep going because the one thing I hear amongst other travelers is how you wonβt ever really regret trying but you may regret not starting sooner.
Thank you all for following along and believing in meβ¦ For seeing me even when I struggled to see myself. I hope my travel reports bring value to your life x 100 in the same way that you invested into my journey and growth. If youβre thinking about doing a solo trip, I hope to see you on your journey soon.
Donβt wait. Itβs SO WORTH IT. I promise.
xoxo,
LEEANN
